Teddy wilson
Teddy Wilson is a driver with national and international racing credentials and a graduate of the Motorsport UK (MSA) AASE Programme. In 2019 Teddy won the opening round of the F4 US Championship and was a nominee for the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. He was seventh in the 2018 F4 US Championship against a record-breaking field and has competed in OK Junior (OKJ) in WSK and CIK-FIA European and World Championships. He was the Super One MSA British IAME Cadet Karting Champion in 2014. An Ards Instructor for drivers of all ages in cars, Teddy also coaches junior drivers in karting, both on track and on simulators. He is the driver coach for Elite Driver Management and Fusion Motorsport in British karting.
FRom Europe to the USA
Teddy Wilson is 21 years old and lives in Northamptonshire, UK. In 2018 he made the transition from karts to cars, making his single seater debut in the F4 US Championship against a record-breaking field of 37 entrants. Driving in team Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) Teddy made an impressive debut with multiple podiums, fastest laps and pole positions in the opening rounds, proving himself highly competitive against more experienced rivals. He finished 7th in the Championship from 51 entrants. In 2019 Teddy won the opening round of the US F4 Championship and finished eighth in the Championship overall - despite having competed in only eight of its 17 races due to budget restrictions. Prior to racing single seaters, Teddy completed two years of international karting competition in OK Junior racing on the European circuit in the WSK Championships and European and World FIA-CIK Championships. His international achievements included third place in the final round of the European Championships at Genk racing for CRG and top three heat finishes at the World Championship in Bahrain where he was forced to retire from the Final with mechanical problems while in fifth position, from an entry of 90 drivers.
From National Competition to European Circuit
Teddy began driving karts when he was six years old and has been racing them since he was eight. Starting out in the Comer Cadet class, his racing at national level made him a regular at kart circuits across England, as well as driving in Northern Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Lanzarote.
In 2014 Teddy was the UK’s most successful cadet driver and MSA British Cadet Karting Champion. Racing with Fusion Motorsport in IAME Cadet, Teddy was never out of the top five in any heat throughout his Super One British Championship campaign and won five of the hotly-contested finals. Teddy also set new lap records for his class at Rowrah (Cumbria) and Glan-y-Gors (Wales) circuits. That season, in the national Little Green Man (LGM) Series, he was also the only IAME cadet driver to top the podium twice and to perform a rare clean sweep - winning all three heats and the final at Kimbolton.
The following year Teddy made his debut on the European circuit, driving for the Strakka Racing Bhai Tech team (formerly Zanardi Strakka Racing) and Forza Racing. Competing in the KF Junior category for drivers aged 12-15 years old his results included heat wins in rounds of the European Championships, 17th in the CIK-FIA World Championship and 7th in the Andrea Margutti Trophy.
Teddy is an alumnus of the Motorsport UK AASE Programme at Loughborough College - a sports science course that focuses on all of the human performance elements that combine to create highly skilled and successful drivers.
Teddy can regularly be found on track as a driver coach and reference driver. A highly professional and versatile driver, his driving repertoire includes Radical SR3, Porsche GT3 RS, Praga R1, Ginettas, Caterhams, Mazda MX5 Cup car, Fun Cup car, Ferrari 430 Scuderia and classic Porsches (ice driving and on track).
In his spare time he enjoys training at the gym, keeping fit and driving on the sim.
